Moo Son Down East, LLC:
Moo Son Down East is a family karate school offering training for kids and adults. We want every member of the family to be able to enjoy training together. At Moo Son Down East, we have a culture where students feel a part of the school family and enjoy the brotherhood of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean art form. We start training students from age 5 to Seniors. Our Association has members age 60+ who are just as dedicated to the art as the youth students. The only thing required for training is a teachable spirit and a positive attitude. Remember, families that kick together stick together!
Tang Soo Do The Art:
Tang Soo Do is an ancient Korean martial art with a rich history dating back some 2000 year. Martial arts were originally developed as a form of fighting and self-defense. Modern Tang Soo Do is practiced around the world for the purpose of building character, discipline, mental security, health, self-defense, and fun. The World Tang Soo Do Association, as distinguished from other forms of martial arts, focuses more on the traditional values of Tang Soo Do as an art form opposed to a sport. Our mottos are traditionalism, professionalism, and brotherhood.
The World Tang Soo Do Association:
The World Tang Soo Do Association was founded by Grandmaster Jae C. Shin on November 13-14, 1982 at a Charter Convention held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Grandmaster Shin first came to the United States in 1968 as a representative of the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association which was founded by Grandmaster Shin's instructor Master Hwang Kee on November 9, 1945. The advent of the World Tang Soo Do Association invoked the interest of many international martial artists whose genuine interest was in the art and not sports oriented. Since its inception, the Association has expanded from the original 17 studios, 164 members, and 12 countries to a world wide organization practiced on every continent.
